I sincerely feel that any kind of 'hijack' is not justified, be it audio hijack in this case. There is some morality and honesty involved in all tasks done. People work hard to earn their bread through various ways, but i guess we should support only the ones who are truthful in their efforts. One shouldn't harm others in your own quest for success.

I don't think that this will be a huge threat to protected music. Most "pirates" wouldn't want to spend the time recording multiple 4 or 5 minute songs. I could see people doing it as an occasionally though, just like when cassette tapes were around and you wanted to grab something off the radio.

The name hijack sure gives me creeps. I feel there will be users who will use it for genuine reasons, but there will even be people who will use it to steal. I prefer to use various music sites and love streaming music. There are some sites like in.com where you can listen to great music and it is free. Downloads are not always possible and they are limited.

Well, it's both. But like (I think) Logic and.or Reason explained, just about any tool can be used for nefarious purposes. I like the idea of the program though, and I would probably use it for ripping audio from video. The only thing is the quality - is it any good? The Radiohead was kinda ehh.

I must admit I use Limewire to get songs. I think I would pay a monthly fee to get unlimited songs but I have not seen many good offerings yet.

Well I am on a PC, so I can't use this. But I would imagine that most people using this use it to steal music.

There is probablhy a portion of people who use it for real reasons, but my guess is the majority are stealing content.
